For me it's working. I am always purchasing advertising in some new and cheap PPC sites, and even the users of these sites are paid for clicking my site, they are also spending some time in my site, they are joining some of my affiliate banners - I am fully satisfied with this paid traffic!

About the changings I know only a single thing: if you are logged in into any of your Google accounts, for example gmail, when you are doing the search, your page will show always in the first page.
