Are you talking about algorithm update or PR update? Please be clear - no one can say anything about algorithm update but the PR update time is likely to be 3-4 months.

If the activities are legit then for sure it's going to affect your ranking on not only Google but other search engines as well. Purchasing traffic or hits won't make any positive impact here.

As where I know the domain age counts from the time the domain is created. At first place, you won't be able to regain the same domain again (someone may have purchased it already). But the domain age is calculated from the time it was created first, next subscription date is counted as update date.
