Any Luck with FB Ads?

Unread postby » Stephanie Watson » Mon, 11 June 2012, 12:04 am | #1 of 12 |

I have tried a little with Facebook Advertisements but I haven't really had much luck. It is confusing because they say you can't have a link to a digital download, but I have clicked on ads that had links to digital downloads. Any tips on selling an eBook on Facebook? Any stories of success to share? I'd really love to be able to sell my ebook on FB.

I haven't tried FB ads but I'm intrigued because I think it's going to be profitable and worth it. I have been trying to sell music online but I'm not quite sold out on the idea that these ads would reach the right market.

I've always been skeptical about using FB ads. Given the kind of people and the reasons why these people go to FB, I wonder if they're at all interested in anything that is offered on the website.

Wouldn't most of these ads actually be targeted at all of your Facebook friends? Or, is it something about the ads that would bring other people to your page?

Do you have a website you could link to so your e-book sales are processed directly? For example, either your own website or the site you published through (Lulu, Kindle, etc.). Any publishing site I have dealt with has provided me a direct link to my book, so this could be incorporated into the ad. If you have your own site as the order processor, simply link to the page that showcases your e-book and the payment link.

As far as targeting your audience, you can set up demographics, interest or other parameters for who gets to see your ad. For example, when I used FB Ads for my author page, I targeted writers.

Is there something on Facebook where you can find the ads that are acceptable? How do you go about putting them on your page? I only use my Facebook page for CloudCrowd, so I have no problem littering the page with ad after ad.

I have been wondering if the cost would be through the roof or not. I see the ads all the time and considering the number of users you should have a good outcome. What is the price range to have your ads listed?

I've never really been a fan of FB ads. You can very well promote within your own Facebook pages without paying for this and get great traffic.

I have excellent results with facebook ads. They would be the most powerful medium I have used to date. Low CPC is the way to go, just did an example with this topic here viewtopic.php?f=22&t=318 of a very small campaign with rather large results. Once you get the hang of advertising on facebook, the sky is the limit IMO.

Facebook ads are very helpful as they target good audiences based on geographical locations.

Facebook is a busy platform where you can't huge traffic for your website. If you want to create a Facebook ad then you can get a large number of visitors to your site.
