Have any of you used Pinterest for your marketing/networking strategies? How has it worked for you?

I have used it to share my articles, and although it hasn't generated any direct sales I have noticed an increase in readership. This in turn generates a bit of passive income. As far as I'm concerned, any income is better than none. The best part is, it is free to use Pinterest and there is potential for a huge following.

i've been experimenting with pinterest a little with mixed success. Certain images (interior decor, funny/cute babies & animals and motivational quotes) will attract a lot of repins and likes and a spike in site traffic - but getting actual followers is very difficult. Anything to do with food has always been the most popular, I think the majority of members must be dieting and dreaming of cheesecake LOL

Lol! When I write my articles I try to use a photo that will attract some attention so it is pinned or re-pinned. That way I get a bit of traffic to my articles and my website.

I think the main thing is to be consistent with activity, as it shows up on the main Pinterest page. It is a bit like Twitter in the aspect it changes constantly, so pinning something right now will not guarantee it will still be on the main page in a few hours. It is more interactive than Twitter however, which is what keeps taking people back to it.

Although I have not used Pinterest for business, I will say that I have a lot of followers. I also follow other people. When you follow them, they are more likely to follow you back. It does take time to build followers. Facebook is really helping connect more people. If you use Facebook as a logon, they will let you know when your friends join so you can add them as followers. I will look more into advertising for business purposes. Thanks for the information.

For all you Pinterest lovers, they will be coming out with an app pretty soon, so if you are getting a lot done with it, you'll be able to monitor it through your phone. I saw a picture of it and it looks really great.

I've never used it. I've just recently heard about the site a couple of months ago but I don't think I'll be rushing over there anytime soon. I'm really not one to jump on the social networking bandwagon because it seems to get oversaturated and beaten to death before people start getting bored and they move on to the next thing.

The only time I use it is when the article site I am working on has the option to share the articles via pinterest already on it. Otherwise I find it confusing and cumbersome to use. However, I noticed some people are starting to slowly decline on the postings they are making here which I find to be a relief!

hi,hello
I think Pinterest is a web and mobile application company that operates a software system designed to discover information on the World Wide Web, mainly using images and on a shorter scale, GIFs and videos. The site was founded by Ben Silbermann, Paul Sciarra and Evan Sharp.

Pinterest pins are 100 times more spreadable than a tweet, with the retweet average hitting only 1.4%..Since the recent Instagram purchase by Facebook, Pinterest has become the hot ticket item for business marketing. And that's for good reason.
