In year 2004, Greubel Forsey revolutionized high end watchmaking by launching it is first mechanical marvel, typically the Double Tourbillon 30°, designed with a patented 30° slanting tourbillon cage. The tourbillon is set inside another tourbillon, effectively compensating for problems related to gravity.

Invention Piece 1 is a tribute for the original and took several years to develop.

The double tourbillon tilted 30° is put in the center of the semicircular hour or so and minute display. Enough time is indicated by a couple of triangular indicators - any red indicator for the several hours and a blue indicator for that minutes.

It's fascinating to watch the different rotations of the diverse elements, while the outer tourbillon cage takes four short minutes to complete one rotation, even though the inner cage takes merely 60 seconds, with twin palms displaying the hours with a 24-hour rate and the a few minutes at a 2-hour rate.
