I just recently became active on twitter and I'm not sure what to do? Do I just update people on my activities? How is this working for you traffic wise?

Thanks!

I really can't get on with Twitter at all, i've tried but I just don't like it! I have my blogs connected via networked blogs on facebook - that way all my posts go automatically onto my FB page and Twitter profile, but apart from that I have no idea whats going on in that world LOL

I signed up about a few months ago but haven't updated it. I have gotten a few followers though without trying. What types of activities are you updating your followers with?If it's personal stuff, then it'll be hard to attract good followers. I offer advice, quick tips and that is what business minded people are looking for. I also throw in information about my business every now and then but I don't overdo it. I think the last tweet I did was a link to my blog.

Is it just me, or is twitter 99.95% advertisers and bots, and 00.05% actual content viewers?

I think you might be right, I don't have much success on twitter but I'm sure other people do.

Twitter is indeed primarily a marketing tool. What most people do is put news up about their business there. Then you have to let people that follow your twitter potentially retweet what you normally put up to gain traffic and business.

That's what it seems like to me. Twitter had some promise but people just got carried a way with the bots and spam. It isn't really useful anymore for anything but entertainment.

Twitter is ok but I use it primarily for entertainment. There are way too many spam accounts for me out there to be useful from an advertising standpoint. I don't knock the people who do use it for that reason but I would rather have 100 followers care about the content I post than 10,000 followers and almost all of them are bots or spam accounts.
