I have a page associated with my website, but most of the fans on there are fake (addmefast), so sharing links on there is pretty much useless, and my friends are fairly sick of me spamming them now LOL. Is there a site / page where a circle of people can get together and share each others status updates? it would get your site/page seen to a lot of new people - and if not could someone pls set up sharemystatus.com please

Have you considered starting a group for people with like-minded interests? I belong to several groups on Facebook (including a couple I have started) and am having some success with getting the word out about my work. If you start a group, you have more control over what may or may not be posted. Instead of spamming the people on your friend's list, simply ask them to share the group page with their friends. You will most likely have to manually accept requests to join your group, but it only takes one click to do so. I think you can also set it up so others are automatically added upon request, but don't quote me on that. I have mine set up so I manually accept them. Hope this helps. :)

Social media marketing refers to the process of gaining traffic or attention through social media sites.

Social media itself is a catch-all term for sites that may provide radically different social actions. For instance, Twitter is a social site designed to let people share short messages or “updates” with others. Facebook, in contrast is a full-blown social networking site that allows for sharing updates, photos, joining events and a variety of other activities.

Why would a search marketer — or a site about search engines — care about social media? The two are very closely related.

Social media often feeds into the discovery of new content such as news stories, and “discovery” is a search activity. Social media can also help build links that in turn support into SEO efforts. Many people also perform searches at social media sites to find social media content. The articles from Search Engine Land below give some more background on all of this.

What I've done on Facebook is set up a Facebook business page so it keeps my personal life separate from my business life. I send an invite to my friends and if they are interested then they accept and if they aren't then they don't. It doesn't offend me at all.

Honestly, as long as you post quality content, your friends shouldn't be upset about it. Just don't go crazy and post like 10 status updates in a day. I agree with what Dugs said too. You should have a different facebook account when you try different things, so you don't look like a spammer to your friends and family. If you have enough fans, you can also maybe try a share 4 share with another page. Look up another page that has a similar interest as yours with a similar amount of likes. Offer to share their page on your page if they offer to do the same.

Search facebook for 'online earning' and you should be able to find some groups of people who are also interesting in earning online.

Facebook status is one of the key interactive features on Facebook. Status updates can be shared among all friends, to a select group or to individuals people. many clients also "tag" different companions in photographs and messages so that Facebook will alert them that they have been specified.
