My site has PR of 0. I'm not sure how to get it up. I'd like it to go up so I can maybe sell advertising or blog posts. I know that getting the link on other sites is a way to boost ranking, but how else do I earn PR ranking? How many links do I need to post to get it up to PR 1?

i wouldnt worry too much about pr, it's your position in search engines that matters for traffic - pr usually comes with age as long as you have everything else in place. for high search position you need good quality, unique content, not too sure how much the rest of it really matters after panda and penguin, but high quality backlinks won't hurt and well placed, low density keywords - they recommend no more than 1% now i think? anyways, concentrate on your content and google will find you
While you are waiting you can always consider running ad campaigns, social media marketing, forum/blog posting, etc

He can check his pagerank, his question was other; he asked about how to increase his pagerank, how many backlinks he need for increasing his pagerank, not how to check his pagerank

That link is working well, , I also used it before I installed the SeoQuake toolbar to my Mozilla - now I am seeing all the info in my toolbar, I don't need to check my site's ranking with that link. But thanks for sharing anyway, some people may find it very useful!

Moc, your forum is very well optimized SEO, soon you will got PR2 or PR3 for it, you will see! It doesn't need any other modification, only a little thing it will be better to modify: you has 31 keywords and the maximum number of keywords must be 20, to your forum to be SEO friendly! And an other thing: instead of using this keywords, for example, "how to make money online,make money,make money online" - just use these: make, money, online. The best way to increase your page rank is by getting quality links back to your site. Now you may think if you write a hundred Squidoo lenses to your site this will help, and it will to a point, but you need to realize the search engines usually only use 2 links from a site to yours to count. Linking back is the best way to increase your PR.

No one can tell you exactly how many back links you need to obtain pr 1. But you can get an average idea about it by analyzing Google Page Rank algorithm.

6). Do some Social Bookmarking in popular bookmarking sites
7). Link Exchange with relevant sites

Page rank is no more important as Google has stopped updating their page rank algorithm.
