Another Google animal attack - Hummingbird!

Unread postby » MOC » Fri, 27 September 2013, 12:06 pm | #1 of 4 |

This is just a quick post to mention a new Google update, named Hummingbird! Let's hope this is a friendly bird, I don't have time right now to look into it in detail, but apparently it is a huge update to Google's search algorithm... More information I will post when I have the time, would appreciate anyone with information at their disposal to join this discussion right now and post, post, post!

The first I knew something was going on was a month ago when strange things started happening with my Google search traffic... Not very good things... Lol! But it seems things are back to where they were and improving. It was deployed for a month before they announced it. It addresses longer search queries, such as for people using voice search where the search is sometimes a spoken sentence and is not just a simple, short, 2 or 3 word search on a particular subject. I have also read that normal SEO practices still stand, there are no different requirements for ranking than that are already in place.

It would make sense to have called it The Magpie Swoops, but apparently they coined it Hummingbird due to it's fast and precise way of destroying your Google search internet traffic!
