This was for untargeted backlinks, many have dropped off, but some still remain, and visits from those links have also dropped off, but still the odd visitor comes from those sources.

Free is good, sometimes great on the odd occassion. But 'paid for' services similar to this are typically much more productive and worthwhile ventures to focus on.

I fully agree, but I have paid for some services in the past that did not deliver too much either, so I am very careful. I will only pay if someone I know and trust gives it a good review...!

I would love to see someone write a 'free' tutuorial for how to use back links the right way. Everyone talks about backlinks and they are so powerful but I think that most people out there aren't using them correctly.

I would hope in time someone like Graham who knows alot more about backlinks than me would get in on this discussion and the many more opportunities that arise from offering this type of service, list building for example ...

Are any of these services still good after the Panda or Penguin or some other zoo animal update? I know many of my friends sites got hit really hard. So I am a little cautious about any of these services right now, but always on the look out for ones which people have had good success with.
