I know that for me I try to rank, but have a hard time doing this. However, my wife she is like gold and any word she tries for she gets to rank. So I am having her teach me her secrets!

That is not bad! Hopefully with more posts and frequent visitors the site can be seen high in the ranks. This would be really great to see more people coming to the site to learn from it.

Trident, I have never seen them change that dramatic! I have had one Squidoo which has topped Google for 3 years now. However, it has slipped to number two behind my hubpage article on the same topic. Nothing in the hours, though.

I know that the Penguin update has hit quite a few sites. However, has anyone noticed that when you search for a specific product almost the entire first couple of pages are sales sites? I know I did a search for a drill earlier with review by the name brand and had to wade 5 pages in before finding...

What I meant is I searched for a DeWalt drill which I was reviewing. Ends up the first three pages for the specific DeWalt drill name was nothing but sales sites. This is what I meant, like if you are searching for just the specific name of the product down to the model number.

Yes, I got hammered hard for the keyword stuffing. I was putting in some Keywords which were relevant to the topic as an off word or generalized word. When I did this my site went from getting about 20 visitors per page each day to under 2 and totally missing from the search engines.

My content got hit pretty hard. However, it was only my site content, not the backlinking content. So I have to redo some of the pages on my site because of the way they were built is reading as spammish I guess to them.

Bonny, that is called the Google bounce. They tend to bounce you all over the place for the first month or so. Then they will decide where they want you to be at and keep you there for a while.

I have noticed when I get pictures on my page it ranks highly and ends up getting me results from Google Image search more then the search engines.

I have never had much in the way of luck with forum backlinks. If this works for you congrats! In my own experience, though, the forums links have been getting hit pretty hard.

Genie, I agree you can use this, but I meant if the site is like Squidoo? Where you backlink to it. Obviously you cannot use webmaster tools there, but how can you check any programs?

Some of this is true, but I have to tell you I do not get much in the way of traffic or even links back to my site from these sites. I just know they are a pain to keep updated all the time!

I have used the Mikes tools in the past. They work out fairly well if you know what you are looking for. If you are not sure what you are looking for, though, it can be impossible to fully utilize the tools.

Are any of these services still good after the Panda or Penguin or some other zoo animal update? I know many of my friends sites got hit really hard. So I am a little cautious about any of these services right now, but always on the look out for ones which people have had good success with.
