The Wayback Machine

It's would be great if you could look at some of the biggest sites that are on the internet today, back over 10 years ago! To see where they came from, to see how primative they looked. Well of course you can with a lot of sites by using this link http://archive.org/web/web.php

Browse through over 150 billion web pages archived from 1996 to a few months ago. To start surfing the Wayback, type in the web address of a site or page where you would like to start, and press enter. Then select from the archived dates available.

They all started somewhere, and some of them started off looking as rough as yours or mine! Until they had some big money spent on them ;)

eBay is a great example I think genie, huge and pretty nice now but looked pretty rough wayback :D

I heard of that site a while ago. It's really cool to see how far some sites have come though for others I don't want to think of looking for fear that it may make me feel like I've been on the internet for way too many years.
