I was wondering if there were any ways of making money that are good for people under 18? More specifically, writing. Do you know of any websites that you can write articles, or post in forums to make money? I really need to make some money, because my family is struggling. I am willing to work really hard and long to make a decent pay. I'm also trying to get a job in my town, but for now at least, I am trying really hard to make it online. It just seems so hard to find something that will let you sign up while under 18. And I'll admit, I have signed up for websites that require you to be 18, that's how desperate I am. Also, does anyone know what the penalty for doing this would be? I can't find any good results on Google.

If you're concerned about the age limit, why not have your parents sign up and you do the work? I guess that would still be dishonest, but all of the tax information could at least come to someone that can pay them and still qualify under the work site's requirements.

No problem. Nothing I enjoy more than helping minors break the law.

But, you above most should be able to find the time to make a blog or a website. Even if you just chronicled your attempt to help your family and how the economy looks from the eyes of a young man watching his parents struggle, you might get a lot of readers and that could turn into something profitable for you.

Two of your friends have to know something about building a site.

I know a little bit about building a website, much more than any of my friends ever have and probably ever will. I have always been the nerdy, techy one out of my group, haha.

Another good idea though, I'll have to look into starting a blog, I already use youtube and have a decent following. Maybe I can convert them into blog followers as well.

If you're already on YouTube then the emphasis should be there as you can also get sponsors there. I don't know what your channel is about, but you already have what you need to help your family. You just have to expand it and make it as profitable as you possibly can. You can still build the website and have them work together, but you are further along than you realize.

If you can write, search the internet marketing forums for writing jobs. Check out Craigslist too. Writings good quick money if you work at it. Just have your parents or someone older set up a Paypal account (or any other online processor for that matter). I have found a lot of young people making money by writing.

I don't think there are any "good" ways to make money under 18, unfortunately. I mean, I don't see them as good or dependable. But some survey sites allow you to join if you are 13 and above. The last one that I came across was CashCrate. I have heard that it works really well for people from the US, UK, or Canada. So if you are a resident of one of these countries, you might be in for something.
Another thing that I came across recently that allows people under 18 to enter, is sweepstakes. This again, isn't a good way to make money, as you can't depend on it, but you can try.
The site that I was last looking at for sweeps was Online-sweepstakes.com (13 is the bar). You can also try Sweepstakesadvantage.com - though, I don't know if this allows people under 18.

Oh yeah, I forgot! Why don't you do what other MOCians suggested. You can get your parents, your older siblings, or an older friend - for that matter, to sign up with the websites and start working. No one ever knows who sits on the other side of the computer in the online world, do they?!

Thanks boyuancy!, I've stumbled upon Cashcrate, but I didn't enjoy the GPT style, too much spam... I have been having my parents sign up for some sites though and you're right anyone could be on the other side and they would be none the wiser. Everyone's input has been really helpful, I really like to get help from real people instead of a search engine, thanks again!

Well whatever I know is if you are interested in doing online marketing then the site don't allow to post under 18. But you can make money without using the online method. Instead you can use traditional method like communication, prints, telemarketing etc to promote any business. I am too using traditional method to promote my business with the help of AMGW agency.

Making money for person under 18 ? Uhm. Doing surveys will be good for you but you must be ready to spend lot of time on it.

Age doesn't matter to make money on the internet. To make money you have to have talent. Anybody can earn money online.
