I know that back links is a great thing to have. However, since Yahoo site search went down I am not sure how to check this anymore. So what programs are available for free to do this action?

Genie, I agree you can use this, but I meant if the site is like Squidoo? Where you backlink to it. Obviously you cannot use webmaster tools there, but how can you check any programs?

I only know how to use Google Webmaster Toolkit, but I'm posting in this thread to reference back to it in case anyone else has more ideas.

You can use the Google PR add-on for Firefox which lets you see the PR and Alexa ranking for any site you are on. There is also a backlinks option which I have used, but am unsure of it's accuracy. Worth a look though and really user-friendly; simply go onto the site you want to know more about and click the backlinks button.

I have tried to use it but it seems to shows me websites that didn't backlink my blog. It's weird. Did it work for you?

It is a good site, sometimes the results are a little off but that's understandable because none of them are 100% up to date and accurate all the time, overall it's programmed really well cheers.

Actually I have tried to find yesterday but the results are no clear enough for me. I wish I could fin results that doesn;t show he comments I have left on blog with the link to my website.

The only one I found (it's in French but easy to use) is

There are many tools and many people have used many other tools for check back links of their site. I mostly used Google web master tool to check my site's back links.

You can check backlinks through Google Search Console and yes there are some paid tools as well like SEM Rush, AHREFS etc. You can take the help of any of them.
